OUR MISSION

Youth Together's goal is to engage young people in community service to help abused, homeless and ill children in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New York, California and New Mexico .

Youth Together is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works with elementary and middle school student councils, Students Thinking of People / Peer Assistance and Leadership programs to help homeless, abused, and critically ill children as well as homeless animals and the Dallas Zoo. We offer eleven different projects in which these student organizations can participate.

To date, Youth Together has raised over $200,000 dollars to help needy children.

WHY YOU SHOULD PARTICIPATE

Get your students involved with community service.  It has never been easier.  We provide the flyers and display boards to advertise the program.  We also will deliver all donations to the area organization that your students have selected to help.  Not only are you teaching your students to help their community, you are allowing the high school students in your district to receive service hours by making gift bags and delivering your donations.

While we offer several types of service, we believe that at a young age, we would like to give something back to your students to help cement in their young minds the good feeling of giving.  While selfless service is wonderful in adults, young children can be conditioned to help their community and that is our goal. We try to send them a note, a gift bag, a poster or stickers to thank them.

VALUE OF COMMUNITY SERVICE DOWN THE ROAD

When I first started Youth Together, it was solely to help others. Imagine my surprise when I started applying to colleges and scholarships and was richly rewarded for my community service involvement.  I applied to 7 universities and was accepted to them all.  I believe that this was due to my community service.  Many of my friends had higher SATS and better grades than I.  I was even admitted to University of Texas and wasn't quite in the top 25% of my class even though I had a 3.6 grade point. I have received many honors and awards for my program and have been lucky enough to receive over 12 scholarships to help with my schooling.   Community Service has its rewards, so get your child involved now!
