Benefiting homeless animals and Operation Kindness

Welcome to Operation Paws!  Operation Paws works with Operation Kindness a no-kill animal shelter and Raised by Wolves to help provide shelter, food and medical supplies they need.  Operation Paws was responsible for helping build a surgery center at the Operation Kindenss shelter in Carrollton, Texas where homeless dogs and cats are taken until they can be adopted by loving families.  Operation Kindness will keep the animal until it is adopted.

OPERATION PAWS

Operation Paws is a service learning program that offers the chance for a child to sponsor a cat or dog at Operation Kindness for $12.00. In return for their donation, the child will receive a gift bag with an adoption certificate, a bio about the animal they have sponsored, dog and cat toys and an invitation to come to the Adopt-A-Paws Parents Party to meet their pet.  Here they will learn about responsible pet ownership and about animal shelters while enjoying meeting their pets.

RAISED BY WOLVES

They can also sponsor a wolf from Raised by Wolves, Inc..  In return  they will receive a wolf can filled with a stuffed wolf, an adoption certificate, a bio about their wolf and a wolf magnet.

Operation Paws is one of our most popular programs.  The students will be responsible to taking orders in the morning or at lunch.  They will learn about running a business by taking orders and being responsible for marketing and advertising the program.  If they are interested, they can even help make gift bags for the student sponsors.

DOUG'S STORY

Doug came to the Adopt-A-Paws party clutching his dog frame picturing his sponsored dog Mercy. Doug was obviously a special ed student and today he smiled widely at the prospect of meeting Mercy. His mom stopped by the cake table and began to tell me Doug's story.

"I really love Operation Paws and I wanted to tell you why!" she said. "Doug sponsored a dog last year as well.  This year, I kept asking him to bring home a form for his sister.  I couldn't understand why he never brought one home."

"Finally, it dawned on me, that sponsoring a dog, made Doug feel special. Doug didn't want to share that with any one else."  "I am truly grateful for Operation Paws."
